"I've been riding since I was 8 years old (I'm now 32). I started out showing Saddle Seat, then also trained in reining and western pleasure. I also owned my own horses for a few years. During college, life got busy and riding slipped away. For years, I searched for a barn where I could simply trail ride and enjoy horses again, without the pressure of lessons and training. Then I found Amber at Bay 9 Sporthorses. From day one, she was welcoming and supportive. I soon began leasing one of her horses and finally got back to trail-riding. Last year I even had the opportunity to buy and start training the foal of the mare I had been leasing and riding all this time. As a stay-at-home mom of two, the peace and "me time" I’ve found at this barn are absolutely priceless. not only have I rekindled my love for horses, but I've also gained a wonderful community of friends. "When I first got Sam on 12/25/21, I had very little confidence around horses. I had been riding alone for about year, using the wrong ack, and feeling completely uncomfortable on my own horse. I was scared- scared for my safety and scared of my own horse. I had no ambition or desire to ride anymore. All this changed when I found Amber at Bay 9 Sporthorses!

When I started at Bay 9 Sporthorses Miss Amber put me on Frankie, one of her lesson horses. I was so nervous it took me 10-15 minutes just to get in the saddle. Through it all, Mrs. Amber stood by side, calmly reassuring me that I could do it and that there was nothing to be afraid of. After a couple of lessons Mrs. Amber guided my on my first trail ride. She walked me through the route and explained what Frankie was used to. Every time I felt scared or anxious, I'd hear her voice, instantly making me feel safe and supported.

Later that summer, I brought Sam to Mrs. Ambers for training. She helped me find the right tack, which made a huge difference. This not only improved Sam's comfort, but my confidence too. I could see real improvements in Sam and myself.

Mrs. Amber gave me back the ambition to ride. She's helped me, and so many others, build stronger bonds with our horses. She brings confidence, joy, and lasting memories to everyone she works with. She's more than just a great rider and teacher- she's a true equestrian and incredible human being.
